2023 Sustainability Report

Since Eataly was founded, sustainability has been a cornerstone of our values. Our first store in Torino was a repurposed vermouth factory where we highlighted the stories of small-scale producers, their artisanal methods, and the importance of preserving Italy’s biodiversity. Today, now with global presence, we continue this mission and commitment to sustainability.

The original Eataly concept shaped the conversation about what a food and beverage experience could be. Now, as the world around us changes rapidly, we must continue be leaders and define the impact our industry can have. As part of our own growth strategy, we are setting ambitious goals for environmental and social responsibility that span all functions of the business and will require collaboration at every level.

We are proud to share our 2023 Sustainability Report, which summarizes our efforts across the 3 main pillars of our global sustainability strategy: Craftsmanship, Environmental Impact, and Social Impact. Some of the highlights from 2023 include:

· Setting our first-ever global baseline of greenhouse gas emissions from our direct actions, and select indirect activities, providing a basis for our path towards carbon neutrality

· Launching new development programs for our people, such as artisanal training program La Scuola dei Mestieri, in Italy and expansion of existing leadership programs, such as Lievitare, in North America

· Building processes for reducing food waste, such as a multinational partnership with Too Good to Go, and systemizing food donations where possible

The information shared follows global reporting standards for sustainability. This will be an annual report going forward, available to the public, our partners, and our people.
