The Hot Italian Sausages from LaFrieda are made from Hampshipe Breed Heritage Pork – the original breed, what our ancestors were eating before crossbreeding. The Pork in our sausage comes from Bensmiller Farm in Sigourney, Iowa from one of the oldest heritage hog breeds in the United States, Hampshire Breed pigs raised in the wild and fed on clovers, grass, and herbs. Hampshire pigs are a heritage breed originally from England, known for their consistent color, intramuscular fat and tenderness.
The Hot Italian Sausages are made from jucy pork butt (shoulder) of well-fatted porks, with real pork casing. Hot red pepper and spices are added, following LaFrieda's original recipe, to give the sausage that classic Italian spicy-kick.

Products from Pat LaFrieda are shipped directly from the producer, Monday through Thursday with a fixed shipping fee. Pat LaFrieda orders placed before 2 p.m. EST Monday through Wednesday will ship via UPS Standard Overnight on the following day. Orders received after 2 p.m. Wednesday through 8 a.m. Sunday will ship on Monday for Tuesday delivery. Sunday orders received after 8 a.m., will ship out on Tuesday.
